I'm not sure this is a "fun" tip but I hate cleaning the microwave until I learned this tip a few years ago. You take a dishrag and wet it--drench it. Then you place it in the microwave for about 20 sec or so and let it stay in there for a bit. The steam from the rag will do most of the cleaning for you! Easy cleaning! :)

My favorite tip is to clean up as you go along! Whether in the kitchen cooking, or working on a project in my craft room, I try to keep the mess to a minimum so it doesn't get overwhelming!

Love Kasia's design with the stripes! Tip: I am THE wrong one to ask for housekeeping tips, but I sure look forward to hearing what others say!

Such adorable cards! I sure wish it was Saturday too. :)

Hmm - tips... I guess my tip would be to take the linens off the guest beds and bathrooms right after they leave so it all can be washed and put away before the next set of guests aerie (especially if there is a long pause between guests). Makes life so much easier as you are not scrambling when they arrive. Another tip - when having big meals or parties, lay out the serving dishes you want to use beforehand and label them so you know what goes into what and you are not rushing around looking for appropriate dishes and serving tools.

my tip: pick up everyday. i hate the clutter and if i pick up everday then the house doesnt look dirty and messy

Another sweet card using the kittie!! My tip is to put a couple dryer sheets into the sweeper bag/container. The scent will fill the room as you sweep!

TAWS's birthday is so fun! My tip-mildew and mold in the bathroom can be cleaned off by mixing 2 parts borax with 1 part baking soda and mixing with enough water to make a paste. It works wonders on all sorts of grime.

Love today's cards ladies! My favorite tip for an economical, eco-friendly air freshner...simmer water, vanilla extract, sliced lemon and just a WEE pinch of thyme on the stove or in a wax melt burner - smells fabulous! (artificial vanilla extract is much cheaper)

Fantastic inspiration...again! As for a helpful tip...have a place for everything and put things away when you're done. Thanks for the chance!

Adorable cards, especially the 'calico' kitty! What a great idea to have people share household tips - I've learned some nifty things so far. Mine is pretty basic, and comes from my mom: 'if you use it, put it away right after you're done, and put it away where you found it.' Easy and logical (now, if only I could get my husband to follow this...). Thanks for sharing, inspiring and 'teaching.' Loving this birthday bash BIG TIME!

Beautiful cards! Love the paper piecing and the banner. I would have to say my tip I've learned is to clean up now or it will be worse later. LOL not show if it was much of a tip. Most of the ones stated already are the ones that comes to mind. All though the one about the microwave was told different. We would wet wipe the microwave first with a damp towel and then heat the microwave and everything would come off and you would not burn you hands hold a hot towel. =)

I love the cards, and you have some great tips here already! I like to use baking soda and vinegar to clean my drains-love the foaming action!

Wonderful DT cards - so inspiring! As a mom of 4 and constantly keeping up with a busy household, one tip that I love to do is add scented dryer sheets to things I'm packing away - boxes of outgrown clothes (for the next sibling down!) or cards and paper things the kids have made - add a dryer sheet to the bottom of the box and it keeps it smelling nice and safe from little critters! :)
Blessings - thanks for the chance!

Great cards I love the use of the patterned paper
tip I .like to say hire someone. I guess you want a real tip. I accidentally came across this one and I was truly amazed--I put some oxi-clean in a tea pot and it removed every tea stain inside and looked brand new

Congrats Tracey!!
My tip is to get some Norwex cleaning cloths....they are fabulous!!

Awesome cards. My tip is to put used dryer sheets in the garbage can before the bag. There's still some smell to 'em and gives off scent.

I want all my kitties to be plaid! How adorable!!! My household tip is to throw my citrus peelings into the garbage disposal - cleans and love the citrus scent!

My favorite tip is just to take five minute cleaning breaks and clean up an area for five minutes, it's amazing how much you can get done in a focused, set time.

Oh adorable cards. My favorite tip would be to Buy Magic erasers. These are wonderful for everything. I have kids so scuff marks on the wall or accidental pen marks on the table. These babies take up much more than most even think they do. wet them a lil wipe area (may have to put pressure on some things)wipe with wash cloth. You done. The hardest messes can be cleaned with these.

Adorable set...great projects!!! I take the dryer sheets once they've gone thru a load and stick them between the sheets that are folded and in the cupboard...helps to keep them fresh smelling until they go on the bed next time. Thank you for the chance to win!

I Love the cards today. that plaid kitty is just so adorable. love the little dog too.
My tip is to always put things back when you use it. It saves lots of time by not having to search for it when needed. Plus it helps keep the house neat too.
Another tip. I have 2 cats. they each have a litter box. i have them by a wall outlet and I keep an air freshener plugged in so that it works every time they go pottie. I like the house to smell nice, not of litter boxes. Edwina Brown

What a fantastic set, I see a cookbook revamp. A small bowl of vinegar in the microwave for 30 seconds and then leave it for a bit makes an easy wipe up and removes nasty smells.

Love the plaid kitty!
My tip -- have two laundry baskets and train the family to separate out lights and darks as they put dirty items in the appropriate basket.

Super cute cards today! My tip: If the hinges of your doors squeak (closet/front/back/bathroom,etc.) just take a q-tip dipped in olive oil, and brush it around the hinges. Open and close the door a few times to work in the oil, and wala! No more squeaky door! Thanks for the chance to win!

OMG what super adorable cards again today!!! I am not much on tips but clean up right away! You get something out. use it and then put it back right away.

super cute cards!!!!! I don't have any wonderful cleaning tips, but Magic Erasers are the BEST invention ever!!! they take off anything

Carol said...

Super cute Cards!!! Most of my tips have already been used! I agree with the take it out, put it away and clean up what you mess. My house always stays cleaner longer by doing this. I also agree on the magic erasers, they work great scrubbing the shower too. The soda and vinegar down the drain is also a great way to make the drain smell nicer too! Clorox wipes in the bathroom are great to have, they are great for a quick wipe before company arrives.

Kailash said...

House cleaning is always such a mission but more so my tip is if you want to keep your kitchen drain smelling fresh and nice, throw some lemons and ice down and hit the button for the garbage disposal, the blades will sharpen and the scent will be lemony fresh :-)

Janet O'Brien said...

oh I hope plaid is fashionable again! my tip may not work for everyone but it worked for me ... nag your husband to death about his habit of just putting things anywhere (like his keys, papers etc) and not being able to find it later on :) Use the opportunity when he asks where his keys are that he should put it in the same place each time he uses it (say it like a mantra!) ... for my husband he got sick of me saying the same reply not once or twice but lots! and he did put them in the same place each time and has not lost his key for the past year!

AWK! That little plaid kitty is so adorable I can barely stand it!! As for my favorite household tip, how about putting used dryer sheets on the shelves of your linen closet, or in your clothing drawers to give just a hint of freshness!

Such cute cards! I love putting dryer sheets in storage boxes, keeps everything smelling fresh. Sometimes when it seems overwhelming I will set a time limit, do as much as I can in 10 - 15 minutes. I'll give each one of my kids a room and we'll make a race of it and see who gets done picking up their room first.

Moosisk said...

Love the cards! As for a tip for around the house, I have a two story house and I HATE to lug my cleaning supplies up and down the stairs. I keep two sets of cleaning supply buckets: one for upstairs and one for downstairs. They go under a sink on each floor. :D Thanks for a chance to win a great stamp set.

Amy Kolling said...

My tip: keep a clean kitchen at all times. Makes me feel like I have a clean house maybe when it's not! Sweet stamp set and designs from your DT!

I don't have a tip that hasn't already been told :(
Just don't let the cleaning get out of hand, a little each day helps :)
