Hi everyone, it's Michelle here! Some new stamps from The Alley Way Stamps have recently come out that I wanted to use for today's card. They have some cute creatures that are perfect for birthday cards, but I wanted to show you a way to use the "simpler" stamps that you might not think of using as the centerpiece for your card.
Both the "Party Pooper" and the "It's My Party" stamp sets come with a balloon stamp, so I used both of them and alternated them to create a cluster of balloons. I colored them in with Zig Clean Color Real Brush pens (watercolor marker pens) to create some nice variances in color to make them look three dimensional. To add even more to the balloons, I then went over them with my Wink of Stella glitter pen - you need to move fast with this, because the liquid will reactivate the watercolor pens. And then I went over all the balloons with a layer of Glossy Accents to make them more dimensional and even more realistic.
The Glossy Accents take a while to dry completely, so I left that for a few hours before coming back to my card. But once it's dry, it creates the perfect mask for a background. Before doing that, I heat embossed a sentiment in the bottom right corner in white. This will also resist the watercoloring I did after. I went over the background of the card with a light wash of blue/grey/purple, but made sure that it was darker around the sentiment so that it created enough of a contrast with the white words to be legible.
Here's the video with the entire process:
Happy Monday! N@ Ali here using this ultra cute bird from Flap Happy. The sentiment was simply written in Word and printed out.
Hello!! I hope everyone is having a lovely day! Meredith here to bring you another creation using the fun technique that I demonstrated in Friday's post! Today I've used the awesome new release Big Time and a beautiful and classic set called Star of the Show.
Hey everyone! Marina here! I'm excited to share with you a colourful card.
Here are the steps I took to make this card.
First, I dug up an older but my absolute favourite set called Wish Big. I stamped the gifts directly on the cardstock and used masking paper to mask the gifts while I stamped more on top of one another.
I stamped the adorable turtle, from the It's My Party, on a separate piece and coloured it with copic markers. I've cut it with a while border so that it could still stand out without the colourful gifts in the background.
